The bulk of the collection are objects discovered during the Museum\u2019s exploration of the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/mshm.pl\/en\/our-mission\/mazovian-centre-of-metallurgy\/\">Mazovian Centre of Metallurgy<\/a><\/strong> (settlements at Biskupice, Milan\u00f3wek-Fal\u0119cin, Brwin\u00f3w and Regu\u0142y) and areas adjacent to Mazovia (settlements at Kra\u015bnicza Wola and M\u0142och\u00f3w). An important element are photographs taken as part of PAR (Polish Archaeological Record) at close to 4,000 sites \u2013 documenting surface surveys carried out by Stefan Woyda and his co-workers. The Museum also holds artefacts from excavations carried out by various institutions and private entities, handed over to the Museum by the Heritage Conservator of the Mazovian Voivodship. Most of these objects come from western Mazovia (settlements at Reg\u00f3w, Grodzisk Mazowiecki, cemetery at Stare Babice and Cz\u0105stkowo Polskie) as well as other parts of the region (cemeteries at Kleszewo, \u0141ajskie and Lemany) dated to the period of the Mazovian Centre of Metallurgy\u2019s operation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Museum\u2019s collection consists of archaeological finds from the Mazovian region of Poland, dating from the Palaeolithic up to the Modern Age.
