Mazovian Centre of Metallurgy from the Roman Age<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In the autumn of 1992, the MAMM presented its first core exhibition &#8211; <em>Time of Iron. Mazovian Centre of Metallurgy from the Roman Age<\/em>. It displayed the results of several decades of study of ancient metallurgy in western Mazovia. The exhibition was built around numerous archaeological artefacts \u2013 chiefly from the Museum\u2019s many excavations carried out over the years. Additionally, numerous photographs and illustrations presented the broad spectrum of archaeological features related to iron smelting and life in Antiquity, as well as showed what an archaeologist\u2019s work looks like. In addition to metallurgy, the presentation formula focused upon the everyday life in iron-smelting settlements. Its important element were multi-format dioramas illustrating reconstructed details of life in western Mazovia at that time, creating a narrative highlighting the daily routine of the people living in this area some 2,000 years ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The manner of presenting the subject was appreciated both by the numerous Public visiting the Museum as well as other museum professionals. It was awarded the 1st prize of the Ministry of Culture and Art in the Museum Event of the Year competition in 1993.
